Fall 2022
End of Semester Reflection
Dec 1, 2022. By Sierra Zhang
This semester goes differently than planned - but in a good way! With the inspiration of a friend, I figured out the ultimate way to combat anxiety and stress — focusing on my self-evaluation rather than external evaluations. Being skeptical is something I will remember from this semester’s R4B class when I am 80 — is something intentionally biased, or is it dis/mis/malinformation? The biggest obstacle this semester was about balancing different assignments, interests, and projects, and I’ve overcome it by updating my mindset and developing my skill of multitasking (self-evaluation matters — even if I failed something, as long as I knew I tried, it is not a shameful thing but an experience for improving the next time). Honoring my voice is my most significant achievement in my R4B experience — being more self-conscious, knowing more about my interests and choice, being proud of my identity, and expressing all these in writing projects. This is probably very superficial, but I wish I’d chosen a different tool to develop my website — a month after I started developing my website on Editor X, I discovered a new tool called “Framer,” which is more stable, interactive, and has nicer animations. I plan to take care of myself by keeping my friends close, holding onto my values, and never forgetting to have a rest when I need to.
