I am thankful that Project 1 offered me a valuable chance to share the “stories” of my life. Before the project, I never thought to notice how interconnected events and decisions in my life were. Developing project 1 gave me a chance to thoroughly interview myself, deeply reflect upon it, and boost my self-awareness which helped me to gain strong confidence and pride to continue down my own path. Also, through the preparation process, I learned to hold a skeptical mindset to some extent. For example, some quotes, images, or even video clips on the Internet are intentionally taken out of their context and then intentionally made into misleading information. 

 

I plan to do much more research in Projects 2 and 3. Compared to when I did Project 1,  the projects themselves are more research-intensive, and now that I learned much more skills on using databases and library resources through the library notebook and exercises. I think these research skills are beneficial life-long, and the best way to consolidate them is to practice through research for the topic I am passionate about — in that case, I will willingly seek ways to develop proficiency in these skills even if I am stuck sometimes. Also, I want to meet with Carmen and the librarians more. Going down the “roads” of projects 2 and 3, I may be trapped in my way of thinking, and it will be very helpful when others guide or nudge me with valuable alternate perspectives.
